Father boarded me onto this vessel yesterday. HE already had all of my bags packed for me. He said he didn’t want me lollygagging about, trying to waste time that would make me miss the boarding. He had Salifia pack my bags, and told me I had five minutes to say goodbye to Margee, who was in the middle of her studies. The poor thing didn’t understand why I was leaving her. She’s so little, she’s only eight. I’m the only person she had to look up to. Now what does she have? Father? Our aunts or uncles? Hell! Even the maids are corrupt! They sell each other out for a bit of pretty coin every day. I know I’m not one to talk, but my hands still aren’t red. Sure, they may be a little stained, daddy did want me to take over the family business one day, and I have done some blackmailing of my own; but I know how one can end up if they grow up knowing about what happens in the family. I’ve seen it first hand with my cousins! Father spared me the torture of growing up thinking everyone served as a means to an end only I could gain. He’s gotten so careless with Margee though. No regard as to what she overhears. I was the only thing keeping her sane. What will she do now that I’m gone? God, please don’t let her hate me.
